If it is one thing that people need to be cognizant of, it's the fact that you should be consuming at least eight or more glasses of water per day. Not only does water keep you hydrated, but there have been studies which show that drinking plenty of water will also stave off hunger as well as help you to feel slightly more satiated prior to eating, thereby forcing you to eat less at meals. This is often a fact that is overlooked by those who are trying to eat healthier or who are experiencing problems with weight loss because of portion control issues. By consuming water prior to eating meals, you are helping to control your intake of food (I.e. portion control) because you already feel a little more full.

There are some people who simply don't like the taste of water. Either, they think it is too bland or too plain. For these people, there is hope. For instance, many of us are unaware of the fact that we actually absorb quite a bit of water in a variety of other ways. There are plenty of foods, fruits and vegetables that contain a large amount of water in them. Fruits are especially notorious for containing a good amount of water. Things such as watermelon, grapefruit, oranges and cantaloupe are just a few examples of juicy fruits that not only satiate hunger but quench your thirst as well.
