In fact, cardio is an important part of physical fitness. However, you should not heavily train cardio, such as preparing for a marathon, if you are trying to focus on building muscle. The two types of exercises can conflict, minimizing effectiveness on both fronts. As you are lifting weights, do your movements slowly. Moving too fast uses the body's momentum instead of letting the muscles do the work. Likewise, don't swing the weights, because this keeps the isolated muscle from doing the work. This is why going slow seems harder. The isolated muscle is doing its work! Building muscle cannot happen if you're not getting a good amount of protein. A good way to consume protein is through shakes and supplements. They are especially beneficial after a workout and also right before going to bed. If you wish to lose weight as you build muscle, consume about one a day. If you wish to gain mass along with muscle, on the other hand, you can consume up to three each day.
