How to Pairing a Comcast Remote Work with a New Box?

You can use your Comcast remote to control your Flex streaming devices and Xfinity X1 Boxes even when they are not visible. This means that your Flex streaming device or Xfinity X1 Box can be located up to 50 feet away in another room or entertainment center. The model number of your Comcast remote can be found on the back panel or inside the battery compartment.

One streaming device or TV Box can be associated with a Comcast remote at a time.

Connecting a Setup Button to Your Comcast Remote

The instructions below only apply to the following remote models: XR2, XR5, and an XR11 Voice Remote.

  • To begin, make sure your remote has batteries.
  • Turn on your TV as well as your streaming device or TV Box.
  • Set your TV input to the same one that your streaming device or TV Box is connected to.
  • Set your TV input to the same one that your streaming device or TV Box is connected to.
  • On your remote, press the "Xfinity" button. The LED should begin to blink green. When pairing an XR5 with an XR2 remote to a DTA, you may need to hit the "Xfinity" button numerous times.
  • On the screen, enter the three-digit pairing code.

Connecting Without a Setup Button Your Xfinity Voice Remote 

The X1 or Flex (XR15) Voice Remote requires the following instructions:

  • To begin, make sure your remote has batteries.
  • Turn on your TV and your streaming device or TV Box.
  • Set your TV input to the same one that your streaming device or TV Box is connected to.
  • Hold down the "Setup" button on the remote until the top-mounted LED changes from red to green.
  • Follow the steps after entering the three-digit pairing code on the screen.
  • Your remote will be successfully linked with the streaming device or Xfinity X1 Box after the pairing code is entered correctly.

Although I don't need it. Because I recently bought a fully equipped Linux set-top box https://www.infomir.eu/eng/products/iptv-stb/mag520/ . MAG520 can be connected to any TV or home theater projector with an HDMI port, which will allow you to enjoy your favorite TV shows, video on demand, and their IPTV/OTT other content, as well as open files from external storage or local network.
