Hi, it will definitely depend on the volume of your project and the budget of course. I like Fittra, it has one of the best home renovation sites. Really great company to work with. The quality of the work they did on my kitchen construction project was excellent. They respond really quickly and communicate clearly where they are with the work and were within any of the timescales they set. I really recommend Fittra highly, they have been first class.

About twice as long as you were told by the contractor.

Here’s how to solve that: Get a bid and ask them how long it will take. They’ll say they can start in 3 weeks and will be done in 4 working days, say. They’re not exactly lying, but they’re being optimistic the way everyone is at the start of the endeavor.

Suggest, “Okay, you’ll be done in 4 days. How about if I add $100 to the price - pure profit to you - for every day you’re early, but, heck, let’s bump the target date to 6 working days, but subtract $50/day if it comes in late?” And they’ll accept because, again, everyone is optimistic in the beginning AND it’s the potential for free money AND the “likely” reward ($100/day) sounds better than the possible penalty ($50).

And really, $100/day is worth it to you to have your kitchen, privacy and life back.

For small kitchens you're looking at 4 weeks. I recently had my small kitchen renovated and used Torus skirting which took a bit longer as I had the skirting made specifically for me.
