That being said, the Pentax Super Program is good but I have some caveats with it. In all honesty, I'm looking for a tougher camera with a good focusing screen. Ran into a K2 with a split prism and matte focusing screen (no microprisms) and other than the fact that the shutter had this loud clack, it looked pretty good. Apparently serviced in 1991. Service Question: getting AF and split prism focus screen to play "nice" D90 is 3+ years old. camera was showing rear focus behavior based on lots of careful tripod mounted test shots, several pros looking at test shots, service shop testing, etc. I have a Chinese era K1000 SE and it has a split focusing screen. Life would be a lot less enjoyable without it. I don't know if screens can be changed, but that would be cool since I have a big spot on mine. I just purchased a Ricoh film SLR off of ebay and I'm glad to find out that it does in fact have a split-screen. Whew! I use mostly manual focus lenses. I had a D200 with a Katzeye split prism. I do not like the focus marker in my screen but I do use it when I want to use the autofocus as an aid. If I use the AF as aid I just recompose after focus. I have moved the marker but now I have learned to ignore it.
