A comparison of 4 different Redfield Scopes. I have owned a few Redfield scopes from different stages of Redfield's history, and it is an interesting comparison from 1970 to the present. Be sure For warranty service on Redfield products manufactured by Leupold and Stevens in 2010 or later, please visit our Service and Support page. DOWNLOADS Redfield Catalog 2015 * Dad mounted a Redfield 3x9 var on his prairie dog sniper - a Mauser 25-06 sporter and he was deadly with that out past 300 yards. This scope was probably put on this rifle in the early 1970s. I now have this rifle and unless something happens, I plan to leave the Redfield scope right where it is. _____ Help with an old Redfield Lo-Pro Accu-Trac 3x9 scope. xwarp. Help with an old Redfield Lo-Pro Accu-Trac 3x9 To the subject of the Redfield scope, I bought a new Redfield Widefield Low profile with both the accu trac and accu range back in 1980 that I put on a M1A that I also bought new in 1980. The scope came with several BDC knobs. I still have the scope on the same rifle today and it is my favorite deer rifle. I dug out an old Redfield ,4X Widefield to put on a new 444 Marlin I just come by , and discovered it is cloudy. It worked good on my 1895 Marlin [which now has a 1X4 loopie] and I'd like to put it on this new rifle. This is a 1st generation Redfield Widefield 4X scope nearly perfect with barely any evidence that this was being used on a rifle. The Redfield Widefield were introduced in 1972 and were hugely popular right from the start. This has the desirable 4-Plex Crosshair which is commonly referred to as a"Plex" Other than the 3-9X. The Redfield Revolution 3-9X40 rifle scope is the hunter's pick if you're looking for a streamlined, simple, and compact scope. With its American style non-fast focus eyepiece and American-proud made-in-the-USA construction, there's no other option if you're wanting something that reflects your love for the red, white, and blue. I have two older Redfield "wide-view" 2.75X scopes on my lever Marlins and both are good, solid scopes. I never pass up a used USA-made Redfield at a good price (under $150, usually). Redfield had a solid reputation back in the 1970's when I started shooting. The Redfield Illuminator is a fine scope. The Ultimate Illuminator was there top of the line scope which had a 30mm tube 3-9x56 or 3-12x56 AO.I found the Redfield Illuminator was like a VX-III.The Ultimate Illuminator was better, I believe Leupold bought Redfield but the ones made in Japan were very good scopes also.
