Patches As of 3ds Max 4, patch objects coming up the modifier stack are not converted to a mesh by this modifier. A patch object input to the Material modifier retains its patch definition. Files that contain patch objects with the Material modifier from previous versions of 3ds Max will be converted to meshes to maintain backward compatibility. NURMS (Non Rational Mesh Smooth) or Subdivision Surface technique uses low-polygonal mesh to control the shape of the smooth surface. In this tutorial, George Polevoy demonstrates his favorite techniques for symmetric NURMS modeling and 3D sketching, enough to build the model, similar to what you see in the first pictures. In this post I will explain the tricks of low poly style landscape render with 3Ds Max.I started the project by creating the plane for the ground base mesh. Its a simple almost square 20x25 segment plane. Then I converted to "Edit Poly" by right clicking the mesh. After creating ground I heightened the XYZ Mesh is the only software available that will convert XYZ data directly into a Microsoft Excel friendly MESH format. XYZ Mesh was originally created to display XYZ data gathered during sub-surface geological surveying (or Depth Logging in the geology world) in an easily understood Surface Plot using Microsoft Excel. r/3dsmax: A community of 3ds Max users.
