CDS Syllabus 2022: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the “Combined Defense Services” (CDS) exam twice a year to recruit candidates for Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. . The notification is usually released in the months of October/November and June/July, and the exam is usually conducted in the month of February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to appear in the CDS exam. Successful candidates are admitted to the respective academies after the Exam & Interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

UPSC CDS Exam Pattern 2022: IMA/INA/AFA & OTA

For admission to IMA, INA and AFA, the written test consists of three sections: English, General Knowledge and Basic Maths. The exam is of total 300 marks and is conducted for six hours. For admission to OTA, the written test consists of two sections English and General Knowledge. The duration of the test is four hours and carries 200 marks. There is also a penalty for wrong answers. 1/3 mark is deducted for each wrong answer by the candidates. Candidates who qualify the written exam are called for SSB Interview. The CDS Exam Pattern 2022 for the written exam is given below.

UPSC CDS Syllabus in Hindi

  • The first exam is for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy.
  • The second exam is for admission to Officers Training Academy.
  • Both the exams are conducted in both English and Hindi medium.
  • The total marks for the written test is 500. IMA, INA and AFA have 300 marks for written exam, while OTA has 200 marks for written exam.
  • UPSC CDS Exam will be based on Offline i.e. OMR Sheet.
  • MCQ type questions will be asked in UPSC CDS Exam.

The level of questions in the preliminary mathematics test will be of matriculation level while the level of English and general knowledge will be of graduate level.

CDS Syllabus in Hindi: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) prescribes the CDS Syllabus in the notification . The Indian Military Academy ( IMA ), Indian Naval Academy ( INA ) and Air Force Academy ( AFA ) have the same syllabus , except for the Officers Training Academy ( OTA ) . The CDS Syllabus 2022 for IMA, INA and AFA is divided into three subjects and for OTA into two subjects. The standard CDS Maths Syllabus is of Class 10, while for other subjects it is of Graduate Level. To plan for CDS exam , it is important to have knowledge of CDS Exam Syllabus
