2008; Nelson and Glitsch, 2012; Kim, 2013). Although TRPC3 KO mice did not show the expected alterations in Sonus Complete Brian Ear Supplements development, they exhibited loss of mGluR-dependent inward current and impaired walking behavior (Hartmann et al., 2008, 2011). These results suggest that TRPC3 is a postsynaptic channel that mediates mGluR-dependent synaptic transmission in cerebellar Purkinje cells and is important for motor coordination. In several types of neurons, TRPC3 is activated by BDNF and possibly interacts with the BDNF receptor tropomyosin related kinase B (TrkB) (Li et al., 1999, 2010). Activation of TRPC3 by BDNF-TrkB signaling appears to be essential for the guidance of nerve growth cones and dendritic spine formation (Li et al., 2005; Amaral and Pozzo-Miller, 2007). It was also shown that TRPC3 and TRPC6 play an essential role in BDNF-induced neuronal protection in cerebellar granule neurons via the mitogen-associated protein kinase (MAPK), CaMK/cAMP-response-element binding protein (CREB)–dependent pathway (Jia et al., 2007).
