Is it realistic to learn a foreign language without a teacher? I want to learn German, but I don’t have the money to hire a tutor.

I'm sure that if you want to learn a foreign language, then you can do it yourself. There are many portals on the Internet with educational materials for learning, by visiting international forums you can find a pen pal who will help you as a native speaker to improve your speaking and writing skills in German, for example. But all of this will require you to be well disciplined and organized, because learning a foreign language takes time and practice. I can share with you this link to an article with tips and tricks on how to learn German using online tutorials yourself.
