The QuickBooks error 6190, 816 prevents the user from accessing the company file. Upon encountering this error, QuickBooks displays the message "QuickBooks was unable to open the company file on the hosted computer". 

 

Possible causes of QuickBooks error 6190, 816:

The transaction log file does not match the company files. 

QuickBooks failed to update. 

 

How to fix QuickBooks error 6190, 816: 

QuickBooks must be updated. 

Correct the mismatch between the .tlg file and the company file. 

Choose single user mode from the utilities.
